At Bark & Bath, we prioritise the well-being of your puppy. While we don’t offer full grooming services for pups under 12 months old, we invite you to enroll your little one in our Puppy University, designed for ages 12 weeks to 12 months.
We understand that leaving your puppy for the first time can be nerve-wracking. However, it’s crucial for their development that they are well socialized and desensitized before they reach 6 months old. Our Puppy University program provides a safe and nurturing environment for your puppy to learn, play, and grow, setting them up for success in grooming and beyond.

Our Puppy University begins with a warm and welcoming first session, lasting 30 minutes. This initial meet and greet is an opportunity for your puppy to get to know our team and start building a trusting bond.
During this session, we’ll focus on creating a calm and friendly environment, helping your puppy feel at ease as they begin their grooming journey. Building this trust is essential for a positive experience in the sessions to come.
In the second session, lasting 30 minutes, we’ll focus on essential handling skills. Your puppy will be introduced to combing and brushing techniques, helping them become comfortable with the grooming process.
Additionally, we’ll provide a gentle tidy-up for their eyes, bum, and feet. This session is designed to help your puppy feel more at ease with grooming tools and touch.
In the third session, lasting 30 minutes, we’ll focus on desensitizing your puppy to our grooming tools and the dryer. This is an essential step in helping them feel comfortable with the sounds and sensations associated with grooming.
During this visit, we’ll also introduce your puppy to our emmi®-pet teeth cleaning system. This gentle approach will help your puppy become confident and relaxed with dental care, setting the stage for positive oral health in the future
In the fourth session, lasting 90 minutes, your puppy will enjoy a soothing bath, complete with a warm towel dry and a gentle blow dry.
This session is all about creating a relaxing experience for your pup, allowing them to associate bathing with comfort and care. We’ll take our time to ensure they feel safe and secure throughout the process.
After completing the previous sessions and ensuring your puppy is comfortable with each aspect of grooming, they will participate in their fifth session- a relaxing first groom! This special session will last around 2 hours and will incorporate everything your puppy has learned throughout Puppy University.
It’s a celebration of their progress and a wonderful way to mark their graduation from the program!
